Spring, not really

The weather has been warmer and nice the past 2 weekends, so we have taken walks both weekends.  I wil post pictures of this weekend now, only because I can't wait to show you the new version of our family picture.   I love it and it makes me smile, but for once everyone is looking and everyone is smiling.  That is pretty rare in our household.

This is a great one of the kids and I love it.

Our hiking spot we have been to before (see this post) it has been a long time since we have been there and to see how the kids have grown.  Go look at that post, it seems like such a long time ago.  This is the same tree that we used for pictures then.

Now this little Munchkin can climb just as good as her brother and sister.

Violin

Munchkin and Buddy had their violin recital this January.  I was very proud of them and they both did a fantastic job.  Buddy is learning very quickly and surprised me at how well he did for his very first recital.

Ice skating

Princess has been sick a lot this winter, so unfortunately she has missed a few activities.  Buddy and Munchkin got to go ice skating with Daddy over MLK weekend.  They were dressed warm and wore helmets.  I heard they had a great time.

Cute pictures

Cute pictures of the kids. I think they were pretending to be dogs or horses, or some other animals.

Caught reading

I love it when it is quiet in the house and I wonder who is into trouble.  This week I caught her doing something great.  Reading in the sunlight at her desk.  I love it.

Girl Darts

Buddy and Daddy love playing with their dart guns.  But then I heard strange noises on a morning when everyone was at school and work.  I found a little girl who had learned how to shoot the dart guns and had managed to shoot all of the darts on the mirror.  She was so proud.

Lunch Bag for Gramma

I finally found some laminated cotton when we were in Massachusetts, and took some time this week to make this lunch bag for Gramma.  It is a little bigger than I planned, but turned out OK and I hope she likes it when I get a chance to mail it to her.

A full room

We finally found some new furniture.  We needed another dresser and couldn't find anything we liked at a reasonable price.  I finally found one, and it was a great price.  Of course it came with a bed frame and a nightstand.  (plus Daddy talked the guy into giving us a different chair that he liked for free) So now we have A LOT of furniture in one room.

So these pictures are for my sister.  Our new furniture doesn't match the existing, but it is not too far off.  It is just a decent room full of furniture.  Daddy's new chair is in the toy room for now.

New Years

Of course upon our return south, it was in the 60's and beautiful.  We took the time to clean up after Christmas and spend some time outside.  The kids painted and enjoyed the outside. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Christmas travel

We got to travel North for Christmas this year, and the kids loved spending time with their grandparents and cousins. We got some snow, and they loved to go sledding and they even like shoveling.  We only got about 8 inches, but it was plenty for the kids to play.

We also went bowling with my sister and her kids, the pictures of the kids didn't turn out so well, but we had a lot of fun.  Of course it was candlepin, and I did not do very well.  The kids turned out to do a lot better than the adults.
Daddy also took the 2 big kids skiing for the first time, they loved it until Princess got sick.  Buddy loved it the most, and loved to tell me about how he could go down the mountain, but he neede help to go up the tow rope.

Early Christmas

Since we were traveling for Christmas we had our family Christmas 2 days afte Munchkin's birthday.   The kids loved having some time to play with all their new toys before we left for a while and couldn't play with them.
The boys each got a dart gun, and so it has been daily dart gun fights in our house.  Buddy has even taped a target on his door, so he can practice when Daddy is not home.

Munchkin is 3

Munchkin also turned 3 right before Christmas.  She is growing up fast and it will be tough to keep her birthday special since it is close to Christmas, but we will try hard.  This year she got to open presents in front of the tree.
Her favorite gift, the pink camo pop gun she specifically wanted.  It was the only thing she ever talked about.
She got to have her Chocolate Cake with Chocolate frosting.  She loved it. She is her Daddy's little girl.

More Snow

We did get a few days of snow in December, the kids loved it.  We had to teach them not to eat the yellow snow.
Since we don't have any hills, we pulled each other around the block, and then played in the front yard.  They thought it was great, even though it didn't last very long and turned to rain soon after we were outside.

Sick December

It has been a while, and so I figured I should post some pictures of what we have been doing lately.

December seemed to be the month of illness, this is one of my favorite pictures.   Munchkin was throwing up during the night, and then Buddy threw up in Daddy's car on the way to school.  (Yeah, I am that mom)  By 10 in the morning, they were both on the couch, one sleeping, one quickly recovered and reading.
Of course it was snowing that afternoon, so I let them have a snowball fight when we went to pick up Princess from school.  Yeah, we do snowball fights in pajama's.
