Chicken Girl
We usually like to cook, but sometimes things don't always turn out like we expect. I made beer can Chicken last night, and it is not something I do often, so I was really looking forward to it. Of course it didn't turn out like I expected. The vegetables and baked potatoes were done on time, but the chicken wasn't cooked through yet. So of course we ate the veggies and then when the chicken was ready about 40 minutes later. It was delicious. We ate it standing around the kitchen. One little girl really loved the chicken, she loved climbing up on the stool and grabbing some before going back to the table to eat it. The other kids didn't want any, but this little kid just kept coming back.

Hoppy
Buddy got to bring home Hoppy for a few days. He is the little frog that has adventures with each of his classmates. We get to take pictures and write in his journal to show all of his friends what we did for a few days.
Buddy had lots of fun playing with Buddy, but it didn't start out that way. Buddy was supposed to bring home Hoppy last week, but cried when the teacher tried to give it to him. We finally figured out that the teacher emphasises that they are not supposed to let little babies play with Hoppy or scribble in his journal. (to protect him) Buddy didn't want to take Hoppy home because he couldn't share Hoppy with Munchkin. His wonderful teacher found an extra frog in her supply just so that Buddy could share. It turned into a great few days and I love the fact that he was so excited to share with his little sister.

Turkey Feather
Buddy has some homework for preschool. We got to decorate a feather to be part of a big turkey on the bulletin board at school. the directions indicated that it needed to be 3 dimensional and they they wanted something more than just coloring the feather. We got creative. First we used the watercolor paints and painted a bunch of coffee filters with lots of colors,
then we cut/ripped those into smaller pieces,
then we crumpled them up and used the glue stick to attach them to the feather.
I think it turned out fantastic and Buddy loved all the cool steps and some one on one time with mommy while Munchkin took her nap. He is very proud of his creation.

Munchkin play day
Usually when the 2 big kids are in school, Munchkin and I run errands and get stuff done around the house. It isn't much fun for her, but I want to take advantage of the time with only one kid. This week I had a bunch of errands to do but I had some time after they were done. I took Munchkin to the park and let her play. She had a blast and loved being the center of attention. I wished I had my camera because she had a smile on her face from the time we got out of the van until we left. We were there for over an hour.
Taking munchkin to the park made me think. I haven't ever taken just her to the park before. That is usually an activity for all the kids, and my attention is divided. When I only had one child, I was scheduling all sorts of play dates and activities, but now that Munchkin is the same age, I am too busy with the other kids to do much of that for the baby. I need to remember to make time for fun with each child as they go through all the stages of growth and development. Each of my kids is different in their own way and it is hard to make time for each kid, but after having lots of fun at the park today it reminded me to take the time and have some fun.

THANKS GRANDMA
Buddy got a new bathrobe in the mail from Grandma, He was very excited and had to put it on right away. He also specifically asked if we could get the camera and take a picture of the big kids in their bathrobes. Princess has had her robe for a while and wears it all the time, now I am sure we will see these 2 in the robes every morning. Thank you grandma!!!

Cool
I am a sucker for cool stuff, these were cheap at Walmart and of course I had to get them. The kids love them, if I could keep munckin from pulling them out over and over again, it would probably help.

Fall Fun
We had fun fall outing, we headed out for a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and more. The kids loved the animals, princess became attached to this particular little goat, she brushed it and wanted to play with it for a VERY long time. Unfortunately Munchkin was scared and did not want to be put down, she was very scared of all the animals and when I tried to get her closer she climbed back up into my arms.
Buddy loved this little rabbit, he stared at it for a long time before he finally pet it.
Munchkin loved the hay pile, she never made it to the top, but would climb up and then roll down over and over. She was covered in hay and totally filthy, but she loved it.
The kids loved the hayride too, they got to see lots of horses and throw lots of hay.
I tried to get all 3 kids to look at the camera for a group picture, but yet again failed miserably. I am hoping to get a good picture in time for Christmas cards.

Boats X 2
Guess what, you can fit a 3-yr old and a 4-yr old in the same boat. They were measuring their toys and telling me everything was either 19 or 80.

These were the boats this week, and the kids played with them for a very long time.
They were also bathtubs, cars and who knows what else.

Notes
Now that Princess is reading a lot more, she loves getting notes. This week Daddy left on a short business trip. We were discussing dropping him off at the airport, in the middle of the conversation, she piped up that she wanted Daddy to take a taxi. This was slightly confusing, so we asked her about it.
Apparently she wanted a note, ususally if daddy leaves in the middle of the night or when she is at school he leaves a note for the her. She really wanted that note. We ended up dropping him off at the airport, but I had him write a note to put in her lunchbag at school the next day.

Nauticus
It was fee museum day this weekend. I took the 2 big kids to Nauticus. It was fun, but not really a great museum for younger kids. They enjoyed parts of it, and it was worth it, even if we did skip over half of the exhibits. This is the exhibit on small particles. They are looking amid the blood cells for the white blood cells.
This is the toy boat that the kids loved to play on, there was a sail boat and this one.
Their favorite part was the large chain on the USS Wisconsin.
Buddy loved what he called the HUGE Cannons.
