Mermaids in the park

The park where the Easter Egg hunt was held also had a Mermaid. I couldn't even find the boys to add to the picture.

Happy New Year and Mermaids again.

We had fantastic weather on New Years day and decided to take a walk around downtown Norfolk.  It was not busy downtown, so we enjoyed beautiful weather and a no crowds. The family playing on the big anchor.

 The requisite mermaid picture, we have done this one already and despite my efforts this time I still don't have everyone looking at the camera.

 The city has started to add artistic bike racks all around the downtown area.  This one is in front of the mall and the kids decided it was close enough to the other mermaids that they needed to get a picture with it.  This time I actually got all 3 big kids to look at me.  However Scout was on Daddy's back and didn't get in the picture at all.

What do you do when you have some time to spend before going to violin lessons?  You find another mermaid for pictures of course. 
Buddy didn't want to be in the picture, he decided to sulk in the van instead. 

 This little scout even smiled for his picture.  He was having a good time playing with his burp cloth.

 The only picture of Buddy, walking along the wall to go check out the crabs on the stairs leading to the water.

This is the end of a day of pictures. This is in front of a random dentist office/ office building near Wards corner.

Wards Corner - Mermaid - 24

We are discovering some challenges with our mermaid pictures.  There are several mermaids like this one.  Mounted on rooftops, or high on the side of a building. We found 3 of these on one day.  This is in Wards Corner shopping center.  There was also one on the 2nd floor of the World trade center and one on the roof of another downtown office building.  I could have asked to go into the office buildings, but all 3 kids were in bathing suits, so I thought I should wait before walking into a professional building.

This is in front of the Sail Norfolk office in downtown Norfolk.  The kids pointed out that it had another mermaid on the front of the mermaid. One of the coolest mermaids we have seen.

This is not the typical mermaid, but the kids spotted it and really wanted to take a picture of it.  Of course we took the picture, and princess in her ballerina pose.

Ship Ahoy - Mermaid - 18

Mermaid in front of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association, this is the only one we have found that has been mounted this way. Most likely because it is in a tight spot, and wouldn't fit the other way.

We came home from vacation to discover that the AC had broken in our absence... on a day when this was the temp showing in the van... Actual temp was only 105. So we ended up staying in a hotel (giving up at 10:30 PM.) 
Daddy and Buddy went home in the morning to try and fix it before the repairman showed up. The girls took some mermaid pictures and went to church in the air conditioning. Not a great day.
