YANK
My kids have created their own game. They came downstairs after dinner last night and told me they were going to play Yank. They then proceeded to take turns pulling each others arms and dragging each other down on the floor. It was an odd variation of wrestling. When asked where they learned this new game, they said "Daddy taught it to us." I guess Daddy keeps saying, "Quit Yanking on my arms."

A day away
Some days I feel guilty because Buddy and I do all sorts of fun stuff while the Princess is in school. But then, once in a while I manage to escape for a day with just her. We went Christmas shopping and had dinner at Chic-Fil-A. It was actually a lot of fun, and really made me realize how fast she is growing up.
At the end of the evening, she told me that her favorite part of our special afternoon was putting on the headphones at Borders and listening to the music. It looks like a CD player and some big girl music may be under the tree this year. Thankfully she is not into the High School Musical/hannah Montana/cheetah girls stuff yet, but she doesn't want pre-school music anymore. It is a new adventure with a kindergartener.

100th post
For the 100th post on a blog many people I know have written 100 things about themselves, I am way too lazy for that, and I since I am a not willing to post a lot of info online, I will do 10 strange and unusual things about me.
1. I have lived in 6 states.
2. I have been in 11 countries. US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy.
3. I never thought I would own a minivan, I do.
4. I love cheesy romance books and movies.
5. I do not like to shop and am always looking for ways to save money.
6. I hate to do dishes.
7. I don't like soda and most carbonated beverages, except beer.
8. I didn't see the Pacific Ocean until I moved to Hawaii.
9. My kids love school and would prefer to be at school.
10. I live in constant clutter and have learned to accept it, my family hasn't accepted it yet.

Fun Fall Day
Once in a while the kids humor me and let me take their pictures. Today was a beautiful fall day, it was not too cold and the sun was shining. After school we did homework and spent the rest of the day outside having popsicles, playing, riding bikes and taking pictures. It was a fun afternoon.
As a side note I added a picture to the header, but it is HUGE, If anyone knows, please let me know how to make it smaller. I tried searching and asking for help and it is not working. HELP me in my confusion.

Signs of Fall
I have a procrastination issue with Laundry, I really don't mind folding it, but I just don't make the time to sit down and do it. I finally sat down and folded about 8 loads last night. I realized matching a lot more socks this week.... I guess we are finally out of flip-flop weather. It is one of the other signs of fall.

Who got you dressed?
I may pick some of my kids clothes in the morning, but what they are wearing later in the day surprises even me. Cowboy vest, cowboy hat, Patriot's football jersey, Baseball batting gloves, Daddies watch and purple crocs..... Huh?

Play Dates
I love having play dates with other kids, it is crazy but a lot of fun. Today I watched 3 other kids and since Princess was in school there were 5 kids running around the house. We had a blast. We played outside, we played games,
we got out some dress up clothes....
We even made funny faces at the camera.
.

It was loud and crazy and after they left, my husband said "I kind of miss the craziness, though it's a lot quieter now"

Hike
I never realized that Buddy had such stamina, this is the view we had of him for most of the hike. We were really happy he was wearing a yellow hat, because it was easy to spot amid the trees. He LOVES to run.

Internet Safety
I attended an internet safety seminar this week that the kids school presented, it was pretty scary to learn what people can do with cell phones and the internet. I now think I probably post too much personal info... even though I don't use the kids real names and I am very careful about what I put online. I may even put too much out there.
Don't worry I will still blog, but I will even be more careful about what is put online. Basically you have to assume everything you put online can be found by anyone if they try hard enough.
I am trying to be reasonable about it but I recommend that if you use Facebook, Blogs and MySpace you try to find a presentation by the police about Internet Safety, It is well worth the time to be educated.

Princess Photographer
The kids have started taking pictures with the camera, and they think it is a fun game.
Princess is actually getting better at it. Check out the latest she took.
