Blueberries

We made it out blueberry picking with friends again this year.  We got lots, even if it was really hot.  My little Munchkin in all purple, (including purple striped socks loves picking, but wont really eat them.)

Tomato

So, I posted earlier about my tomato plant. I got the upside down tomato planter. That plant has grown HUGE. My other tomato plants haven't even blossomed (in the shade) I will have to get another one next year. I am waiting for my first tomato. I am hoping the squirrels don't get it before I do.

Mulberries

We found a mulberry bush along one of our walks through the neighborhood. It is along the road and the kids LOVE to eat the mulberries. It adds a fun new diversion and an evening's entertainment. Of course half the fun is watching my kids have fun walking and enjoying each other. The girls walked together, but this night Buddy was a little bit occupied with his berries. They taste Soooooo good.

Tomato

I finally did it and got an upside down tomato planter. I have never had one before but I am ready to give it a try and see how it works.  Our garden in the bck yard is mostly shaded, so tomato's don't grow well there. I am hoping by hanging this is the front yard where there is a LOT more sun we might have some more success.  I will let you know.

Strawberries

It is strawberry season again here and we took Grandma and Grandpa strawberry picking this weekend. It was good picking and we picked about 30 lbs in about 30 minutes. The picking was great. So of course then we had to process all those berries.

We froze 6 quarts
Made 3 batches of jam
Made one pie
Covered some of them in chocolate
Ate lots of them plain, with cereal and with whip cream.

There aren't many left.

Huh

Wierd question.... How is it possible that one rose bush can create 2 different color roses on one bush?   (actually I think it must have been a grafted rose bush, but it is pretty cool.)
